How to Make Google Slides Look Like a Pro Deck
By SlidePilot TeamAug 4, 20261 min read
Five low-effort adjustments — master layouts, alignment, theme fonts — that take a Google Slides deck from default to polished.
Small edits, big difference
Google Slides is capable, but its defaults scream template. A few
adjustments make it look intentional.
Five quick wins
- Use master layouts — edit the master once, apply everywhere.
- Set theme fonts — one heading font, one body font, site-wide.
- Align with guides — turn on guides and snap to them.
- Replace default blue — set your own theme color.
- Tighten line spacing — 1.0–1.1 reads cleaner than 1.15+.
Importing content
Need to bring in screenshots or a finished visual? Convert them to a
PPTX first, then open the file in Google Slides — every image lands as
its own clean slide you can keep editing online.
